Accessibility statement

This statement applies to the Switchity website at switchity.co.uk, including our broadband and mobile comparison tools, location and provider guides, and calculators. It is operated by Switchity Limited.

Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA.

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means most of the site meets the standard, with the exceptions listed under known limitations below.

We assess the site with automated tools (Lighthouse and the axe accessibility engine) across our main page types, alongside manual keyboard and screen-reader spot checks. In our most recent assessment (15 August 2026) our page templates scored between 90 and 97 out of 100 on automated accessibility checks, and the issues found within our own code were fixed as part of that review.

• A skip-to-content link at the top of every page, so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
• Semantic HTML with proper landmarks, headings and lists, so screen readers can navigate by structure.
• Every deal button and link carries a per-deal accessible name (for example the provider and package name), so lists of deals never read as a run of identical buttons.
• Live-region announcements for dynamic changes, such as the number of deals selected for comparison.
• Reduced-motion support: animations are disabled when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Fully keyboard-operable filters, dialogs and comparison tools, with visible focus styles.
• Information is never conveyed by colour alone: best-value labels, price-rise warnings and badges all carry text.
• Text alternatives for images, and provider logos that fall back to readable text.

Some parts of the site rely on third-party services whose accessibility we do not fully control:

• The cookie-consent banner is provided by a third party (CookieYes) and some of its text does not meet colour-contrast requirements. We have limited control over its styling and are pursuing improvements with the vendor.
• Mobile phone and SIM-only deal listings use an embedded third-party comparison widget which may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. If you cannot use it, our offline comparison service will do the comparison for you by email.
• Embedded maps (Google Maps) and the broadband speed-test tool (Ookla) are third-party frames with their own accessibility characteristics.
• A small number of buttons use a brand green whose contrast against white text is slightly below the AA threshold at small text sizes. A review of these colours is scheduled.

Accessibility problems are treated with the same process as any other complaint; our complaints page explains the timescales and what happens next.

The Equality Act 2010 requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments so disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage. If you have raised a problem with us and are unhappy with our response, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) can advise you on your rights.

This statement was prepared on 15 August 2026, based on our own automated and manual assessment of the site's main page templates. We review it whenever we make significant changes to the site, and at least once a year.
