The Fold7 is a different bet from a flip. Instead of shrinking a phone, it grows one into a small tablet. Folded, you use the cover screen for calls, messages and quick tasks. Unfolded, the 8.2-inch display gives you room to run two apps side by side, read documents, edit photos or watch video on a proper canvas. If you want one device that replaces both a phone and a small tablet, this is the form factor that does it.

The 8.2-inch inner display is the reason to buy a Fold, and like all folders it carries a faint crease along the hinge that you notice by touch. At 218 g it is heavier and bulkier than a standard phone, which is the cost of fitting a tablet inside. A 4MP camera sits discreetly under the display so nothing breaks up the screen. Choose the Fold7 if a large unfolding workspace matters more to you than slimness.

The Fold7 has the strongest camera in this Samsung folding line-up, led by a 200MP main sensor with 10MP and 12MP support lenses for extra range and width. A 10MP selfie camera handles the front, alongside the under-display 4MP lens for unfolded video calls. For a folder this is a genuinely capable camera system rather than an afterthought, so it suits people who want big-screen versatility and serious photos in one device.

Running Android 16, the Fold7 is built for multitasking, with the power to drive that large screen across split-screen apps and demanding games. The 4400 mAh battery is the biggest in this folding range, which it needs to feed the 8.2-inch panel, so expect a solid day from mixed use. 5G keeps data fast wherever coverage reaches.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 is the other side of Samsung's folding range: it flips shut into a small square and costs less. The Fold7 goes the opposite way, unfolding into a tablet for work and media. Pick the Z Flip8 for pocketability and a lower monthly cost, and the Fold7 if you want the biggest screen and the best camera Samsung's folders offer.
